Lyrics:
Air starts out in the nares
moves through the nasal cavity
and down the pharynx into the trachea
It is warmed and filtered here
Through bronchi one, two, three
Concludes conducting and begins the respiratory zone
When I breathe air moves through the zones
Both conducting and respiratory
Soon the gas exchange will occur at the alveoli
And oxygen can travel through the blood
So alveolar ducts and sacs
Come off terminal bronchial
Surfactant lessens the surface tension
O2 moves by partial pressure
Right into the RBC,
Binds to hemoglobin and moves to the blood stream
When I breathe air moves through the zones
Both conducting and respiratory
Soon the gas exchange will occur at the alveoli
And oxygen can travel through the blood
The chloride shift means that it moves out
And bicarbon ion, it moves in
And in the RBC it binds to the H With catalyst anhydrase.
It makes carbonic acid and soon water and CO2
The pressure gradient that helps move it out
Diffusing into alveoli back up through both the zones
out the nose and into the atmosphere
When I breathe air moves through the zones
Both conducting and respiratory
Soon the gas exchange will occur at the alveoli
And oxygen can travel through the blood
When I breathe air moves through the zones
Both conducting and respiratory
Soon the gas exchange will occur at the alveoli
And oxygen can travel through the blood
When I breathe air moves through the zones
Both conducting and respiratory
Soon the gas exchange will occur at the alveoli
And oxygen can travel through the blood
