  • the song really exists?

  • @MarcoHippie I'm pretty sure that the song was written specially for "Shogun". I think it isn't a real sailor song. The internet would suggest that way, anyway, since you can't find it anywhere except in the context of the series.

  • This was a great scene showing how open Lord Toranaga was to other cultures to learn something at the cost of looking like a fool, and always being open to new things showed how light years he was above other lords. No wonder he made Shogun. Even when he was messing up the steps he learned quick and still had the dignity about him.

  • @maven21 Indeed. I was really amazed at how incredible a job Toshiro did in portraying Toranaga. This scene one of the clearer displays of his mastery over the character.

I'm fairly certain Toranaga is having a very nice time with this dance, and doesn't mind looking like a fool at all. :)

  • This scene always makes me laugh lol xD. Thank you for posting this! There are not too many Shogun scenes so I appreciate it. Such a good novel and such a good mini-series. Toshiro Mifune and Richard Chamberlain did such a good job. Everyone played their parts so well.

  • where i can found the lyric?

  • I always crack up when he starts the Kabuki-shouts! Such a brilliant scene which really shows the japanese prowess of adapting to new and foreign things and instantly turning them into something uniquely Japanese in the process.

And Mifune-san is as awesome as always.

  • a shogun a világ legjobb sorozata

  • This dance is second only to the one in "The Jerk" at the end of the film, the hillbillies dancing on the porch.
