@NineTails20 Cool! Thank you for the info. I learn something new each day. Yes, it is a beautiful cover version. I like it better. Now, I will listen to it with my daughter in mind. Peace. ~pete

@sonnyboy39 While the original meaning behind the track is Lou Reed's drug use, Simon Le Bon said that he sang the song as if he'd spent a day with his daughters. I think once I'd found that out, it changed the meaning of it for me. It's a beautiful cover version.

I don't know why people say "Thank You" is considered the worst album of DD's career... Sorry, but, as I know, "Liberty" (1990) is the one that got this 'award'. I bought the album at that time and even knowing the original versions, the disc is not horrible. I just didn't like "911 Is A Joke" and they comitted a mistake issuing "White Lines" as a single, but it doesn't turn the spark off of the album. I think people were unkind and a band like DD doesn't need to prove anything anymore.

@Danythehouse The song is about Lou Reeds drug use. I did not know if you knew this. I think it's a great song. Sad but good.

@brbgal i just watched his comments(from 1999) on their behind the music episode(and re-watched that section online so i could be accurate)he said that he thinks simon actually sings the song better than he does, and that if he could have sung it that way he would have, although it wasnt for lack of trying.. and that they had recorded it as they he had meant it, which he said was a real big thrill for him to hear. (and yeah, he said it was the best cover of a song of his ever)
