This is a closeup look at Microsoft's Kinect-powered recliner created to show off what can be done with the impending Kinect developer SDK. Microsoft coding4fun.com's Clint Rutkas drove a recliner on stage at MIX11 using only gestures. After the keynote, he showed us some of the finer points, including the user interface designed by 352 Media Group, www.352media.com, and the omni-directional wheels.

  • what's interesting is that there is a video on the marketplace for this, but what's even better is how "they" are claiming that they have been in development of an SDK and are planning to launch it. If I remember correctly there have been other people out there that have already done this. WTG microsoft.

  • @saitzev others have used community-based toolkits. The SDK is an official one from MS that will let more novice devs code on the platform. Kudos go out to the wizards able to develop without all those tools!

  • Building it seems very expensive but entertaining in the end. They should sell these but when there more professional

  • Cool :-)

  • Cool :-)

  • I wish Microsoft could come up with innovative stuff like a jumbo iPod Touch.

    This stuff is BORING!
