Here I have the Springfield 1911 A1 Loaded, which shoots .45 ACP and the Beretta M9, which shoots 9mm Luger. Which is better: .45 or 9mm? I don't know... but what I want to compare is: which do I handle better (in terms of recoil and muzzle rise management)? I'll show you a few clips from three different angles of me firing both handguns for you to compare. Give me your feedback! Am I limp wristing? Not holding a firm enough grip? Do I manage kick better with the .45? Do I have less muzzle rise with the 9mm? Tell me what you think :]

And, after all that shooting, here's my target. All shots for this video were fired from 40 feet away, using a two-handed grip.

For those of you wondering, I will be posting an update vid soon on the giveaway. Stay tuned!

  • It looks like you shoot that 45 better than that 9mm. It took you about 3 seconds less time to put your 5 shots on target with the 45. that is signifigant, now maybe that is because that gun has better sights, or maybe its just it feels better to you and you can get back on target faster. from looking at your paper it appears you shoot both about the same, but that maybe you tend left with the 45 and tend right with the 9, could be sights, but probably the diffrence in trigger pull.

  • With that 45 you only have to worry about the recoil of 1 or 2 shots but with that 9mm its gonna take 3 or 4 shots to do the same as 1 or 2 .45s and i didnt see too much of a difference in the muzzle climb or recoil for u it looks like you have it figured out how to grip them pick whatever one feels more natural i say

  • Oh, yeah, back to the whole point. I've had the same .45 for 9 years. I don't plan to trade or sell. And BTW - no mall ninja shoots like I do...

  • @1000meterstare Not about you... This was someone asking if the .45 or 9mm was Better.... FOR HER.....not what some mall ninja thinks is best. Dont come back with "im in the service, bla bla bla".....it's clear by your post that you think your way is the only way...and that is the way a mall ninja thinks, military service or not.

  • I've been in Iraq and shooting longer than most of you have been alive. (I've actually been in firefights). I'll shoot my way and you shoot yours.

  • your shooting is looking good your grip looks good and good job on using your whole hand to release the slide. whatever gun suits you is the best gun for you. keep up the good practice and you will get even better. just remember sight alignment and trigger control are the two most important things. i love seeing people take a positive interest in shooting its very fun and challenging.

  • @1000meterstare 95boosted420a is correct you may think u have faster reload times until its a shootout and you lose the ability to use fine motor skills. when ur body is under stress it naturally gives strengh to the large muscle groups in the body since the hand is is over all eisier to move. under stress it is best to use it over a finger. any good police instructor will tell u this. anyone who says racking the slide is for amateurs is surley an amateur.

  • 9mm aint you, 45 acp is your baby!

  • Nice shooting your all ways gana have a kick no mater how big u r just keep practicing you'll get it

  • let me ask you Do you apply any pressure with your left hand ?? it should be about 70% pressure with your left hand and 30% with your right hand, so your right hand Nerves can be Relaxed !! also try to pull the trigger with the tip of your finger You should contact the trigger with the center of the outermost pad of the trigger finger. Further out, will pull the gun to the right. More toward the knuckle will push the gun to the left !!
