A Brief History of Russian Cinema (2 of 2)

The documentary focuses on early Russian filmmakers who paved the way for many new filmmakers worldwide. Filmmakers such as Eisenstein and Dovzhenko were extraordinary men with intelligence and creativity. During the Soviet party era, movies were usually patriotic. As World War I commenced limited number of movies came out of the big screen. It was not until the 70's the Soviet cinema began to make great films once again. Similarly to the United States, modern Russian movies are usually profit driven and oriented, political movies are usually more abstract. I hope you enjoy this short documentary. I plan on expanding with actual footage for my own experience and possibly for college thesis-stay tuned. Positive or negative comments will be appreciated. Thanks.
