Student challenges Bachmann on marriage

Michele Bachmann showed her titanium spine at a cozy town hall meeting at the Waverly Pizza Ranch Wednesday.
In a true small-town spirit, she kept her introductory remarks short, giving her audience an opportunity to quiz her on issues of interest to them, and even held the microphone so her supporters' voices could be heard as audibly as hers.
But she did not hold back when a W-SR student asked her what she would do for the LGBT community as president and challenged her views on marriage.
"All of us as Americans have the same rights, we have the same civil rights," Bachmann told Jane Schmidt, 16, who identified herself as a member of the school's GSA, the alliance advocating for the rights of gay and straight students.
"There shouldn't be any special rights or any special set of criteria," Bachmann continued. "We all have the same civil rights. "
With a mother's patience and to applause, Bachmann reiterated her position that marriage is between a man and a woman.
This exchange, and a later one, from the same corner, that had to do with bullying and the practicing of religion in schools, demonstrated that even in a hometown format Bachmann does not shy away from controversy.

And, FYI, Bachmann, children CAN pray in school. They have every right to do so and this is protected speech. They cannot proselytize; only fair. The prayer cannot be led by the adminstration/teachers.

Bitchmann likes to pound away on 1st amendment,yet she only references freedom of speech.She conveniently ignores separation of church and state.The government has no right to tell parents and children what they can and can't say.No, the government does NOT tell people what they can and can't say, except in isolated instances.Abortion providers are forced to read bogus crap statements to patients, said statements being written by state/federal lawmakers.Guess this is one of those rare instances.

The right course of action for Congress now is to AUDIT IRS & TREASURY. Since what IRS have not been doing what is right, surely there would be more misdeeds!

Congress must pass a law to maintain the rule of law in US constitution TO ALLOW Congress THE POWER to investigate any US department to ensure that no corruption has been committed by any Administration that could bankrupt the country financially like what had happened to Europe.

Thus American can be ensured of a healthy economy.
