This time I used a copper washer for the inner circle and copper wire for the outer circle. I also used 8 freshly purchased 9V batteries which created the fastest spin speed I've seen so far (about the same as with the test tube experiment). One problem that came up was that the copper began to react with the Mercury and create an ugly alloy of some kind that formed like a skin on the outside of the Mercury. This is one reason to stay with pure Iron as electrodes if you can. I also used silver Solder to connect the copper washer to a copper wire, and this may have created more impurities that binded with the Mercury.

  • 1. place hydroelectric turbine at the bottom

    2. use batteries to start rotation

    3. reroute energy from turbine to the vortex's power supply

    ???????

    Perpetual motion machine!

    U mad, physicists?

  • mercury is so expensive.

  • Wow! What an engine. You made magnetic liquid move with a battery. You should see me pick up coins with a magnet you'd really be impressed.

  • more amps man! more amps

  • have u tried using a car battery for more amps? on my cars battery it sais it has 60amps that would produce super fast spin

  • i did it on my own when i was 10 stole 1 kg mercury from school and did this at home randomly. later i found this phenomenon.

  • Ah a small hint to a Vimana engine. Very nice man.

  • have you seen this one? the dude just has what look like a cathode and anode touching the mercury, and something else unexpected happened that helped illustrate the movement--the black plating on the electrodes flaked off and contaminated the mercury, which helped to illustrate its flow showing rotation and opposite rotation when polarity switched. watch?NR=1&v=V61ENFlR0S4

  • wow thats cool

  • @john, yes, liquid gyro...BUT apply hydro electrics to this and we could possibly have a self sustaining, self stabilizing energy source here..... were so close...come on people, lets get free from oil!
