I have always admired the engineering that went into these great boats. I have owed a Columbia 26, Harstad 31 Motorsailer, and am now in the process of buying a Columbia 39 for some blue water adventures, but your boat has always fascinated me because of its prowess in two genres. Great video and happy sailing!

nice to see someone who actually can sail.. i went to annapolis today and over half of the "cool" people with boats were just showing of, drinking beer at the docks not doing shit or then they were "sailing" using a motor and sails down.

No questions for me.
Thanks.
I have had my Mac for 12 years..bought it new in 98 in Vancouver...never sailed before ..We "The Admiral"&I have been everywhere with the Mac.except down your way .I watched you docking ..in the wind ,I always dock with the rudders down unless water depth is to shallow in fact I run ruddrs down untill I am going to too travel over 6 knots for extended distances

An earlier post to this vid suggested rudder down docking and it usually works great. Because the Mac is both a powerboat and sailboat, depending on conditions, it is easier to dock than either one. For example, in high winds, a sailboat resists lee way far better than a powerboat. In high current, up with the foils to scoot over the water and into the dock; just another advantage of the Mac. BTW Hope to sail the brand new Salish Sea next summer.

I hate it when people ask questions and the uploader doesn't answer!

Actually, I do answer questions via PM to prevent long comment chains. Got a question that the vid doesnt answer? :)
