His name is Shyamasundar das, he was a disciple of Svami Bhaktivedanta. He came with 5 other devotess from USA to London to introduce Krishna to England. He was also a close friend of George's.

Something else to admire about George - he'd cultivated the kind of relationships with friends where he could get cranky and rather nasty and bring up a similar mood in the other person, but just when things looked really bad...they'd put the brakes on by cracking up about it together. :) I still love that man.
