Big guns are a boost to commander's egos, but not much else. Artillery is becoming outdated as we enter into the age of precision guided ballistics. Unlike an artillery shell, a missile is a lot easier to aim and, in effect, more deadly, and requiring a lot less munitions to be fired (1 missile vs 100 artillery shells). Yes, missiles cost a lot and have disadvantages too, but artillery causes a lot more collateral damage to civilians than a missile. Lasers are the future.

Umm, we are not the "War Machine" we once were, china makes everything for us, they dont make our tanks, but they provide the steel and amunition, we are not a war machine any more, if we get a president that acctually gets us back on track that would be great but fo right now we are attached to china.
