My christmas present from Scotty. I haven't quite figured out to get it going stably. Here I think I have too much water in the boiler, leaving too little reserve of pressurise steam, so the engine spins up but then exhausts its pressure and slows back down to a stop. More experimentation will be in order when I pick up some fuel, as there was only enough for a few minutes play when I got it.
The motor was already attached, and there's an LED soldered across the terminals. The DMM shows the voltage across the motor and LED. It's a rough measure of speed, though obviously the LED clamps the voltage out.
