In the East African Safari, out of 85 vehicles at the start only 16 finished; 5 of which were Citroën DS 19.

@cattleman6420012000 The Citroen DS was not designed by an Italian. The body styling was done by Bertoni. All the engineering and mechanical design was by the Citroen factory engineers led by Andre Lefebvre. A 40 year old DS at 100 mph is a better place to be than 100 in many new cars. These were very strong cars.

Styled by an Italian, designed by Frenchman, our 4 DSs have rarely leaked a drop. A very strong and deceptive rugged car. Great footage.

This is such a fantastic video. It is incredibly interesting to see the rally and the DS Citroen. They were a wonderful design these cars. In their day, they were so far ahead in design from practically everything else. The Italian who designed them was a design genius.
