Another great show from TVS's children's department. 'Do It' was presented by Sheelagh Gilbey and set in the fictional 'Belstow Weekly'. Produced by John Dale and Directed by J. Nigel Pickard

  • Never a truer word written, millingpebbles.

  • Thanks for loading this up, i only have a vague memory of the show and it was great to see a snippet of it! Please keep uploading the great TVS rarities!

  • Pleasure! Wasn't TVS great?!

  • I must have made half the things that were ever on this show- still make potato peel crisps to this day! Only wish I kept the two Do It supplements; I remember Sheelagh was joined by a bloke called Norman who was like the bumbling editor of the Belstow Weekly and a young black guy called Sam Silver in series two.

  • No. 73 is a good example, they could have stuck with Tiswas, or at least produced a standard Saturday Morning Show but instead they went for something far more ambitious in every way possible. Innovative from the very first day.

  • I've been getting very nostalgic about old TV lately, and at the age of 37 I risk sounding like an old fart by saying they really don't make 'em like this any more. Like others have said, TVS did a great job and the loss of their franchise was a huge injustice - Meridian were crap, much like Carlton ended up being in London. ITV really did go down the toilet from the mid-90s onwards, abandoning really good shows for cheap junk. :(

  • "I'd just like you to pop out for a moment!" Nudge, nudge, say no more!

  • @mistofoles No, you are thinking of Carole Leader. Carole was the Chock a Girl, Fred Harris was the Chock a Bloke!

  • Wasn't Sheelagh onr of the presenters on "CHOCABLOCK", too??

  • Never caught this when I was young, but I'm in my 20s now and it's hilarious :P

  • No I think she did!

  • I believe she now teaches drama in Nursery schools in West London. She was great wasn't she :)

  • Sheelagh Gilbey used to be a presenter on Playschool.

  • Remember this like it was yesterday, even though I was about eight when it was on.

Your woman Gilbey has longer hair than I recall - did she rock a funky bowl cut at one point or am I imagining it?

  • Ah remember this and Sheelagh Gilbey, whatever became of her??
