The 99% #OWS #N17 EPIC MOMENT

One of the most impressive moments of yesterday's Occupy Wall Street marches, was when someone projected a giant 99% "bat signal" on the side of one of lower Manhattan's skyscrapers as thousands of people swarmed across the nearby Brooklyn Bridge. New Yorkers know the Verizon Building as the windowless, concrete eyesore that looms over the bridge and mars the downtown skyline, so seeing it used is such a way certainly got a lot of attention.

But who did it? And how were they able to project the stories-high words on the building just as the protesters made their way over the span? Boing Boing's Xeni Jardin spoke to Mark Read, one of the Occupy Wall Street organizer who pulled together a team of friends and artists that arranged for the projection to happen.I

Read says he got help from two video projection artists, Max Nova and JR Skola, who used a 12,000 lumen projector and programmed the software needed to properly program the message. He also found an apartment in a nearby housing project from where they safely angle the projection on to the building. He says he offered to rent the apartment from a single mother of three, but when she found out what they wanted to use it for — and saw what happened during the eviction of Zuccotti Park — she refused to take their money.

i have heard this middle class jive a lot, even from my friends. i went to occupy lsx 2 days after it started. The first person i talked to was an ex-soldier who had been thrown out of his job after serving tours of duty in both Iraq and Afghanistan. The result of which had left him with mental health problems and a belief that the country he thought he was fighting for (at the time), spewed him out and forgot about him. An inspiring man, yes, but not middle class.

@MusicLover1701 The resources left (water, fertile soil, climate-friendly areas on earth to produce ag) are limited. Enslaving the workers is what I would predict. The old, sick, people unable to work will be left to fend for themselves. But, that is leaving out China, the country which hanged the driver of a tank because he did not run over a protester in Tianaman Square. China, Japan and the Federal Reserve along with the UK own America's assets. It's hard to say what they have planned.

@markchav Lovely thoughts. A movement to save the mddle class, who have been robbed of their assets, swindled out of health care and a higher education, watching as the politicians stand by while the transfer of wealth takes place. The rumor that the Rothchilds instructed George Soros to organize a revolution, however, taints this. It's time to address the issue. Why is a Monday chosen for a significant march? 2/27, why not 2/26? Sounds like management to me, the fewer show up, the better.
