@stillceaser Ah! You mean Galtiere! Yes indeed!

@TopRobbo1970 What 'genuine fascism'?
-
Whilst this is fabulous satire, we must remember that the Thatcher government did actually stand up and go to war against genuine fascism.
Still brilliant after all these years though!

@usernameofnobody Well there are three things that make me think it's Ted Heath rather than Michael Heseltine:
1. I think the correspondence with the scene from Cabaret is a closer fit if it's Heath.
2. It looks like Ted Heath.
3. It doesn't look like Michael Heseltine.
-
@Oh4Chrissake I'm pretty sure it's Heseltine. Heseltine was a one nation Tory who didn't always approve of the Thatcher government's policies.
-
@usernameofnobody No, I'm pretty sure it's Ted Heath. That would tie in with the film reference - an old campaigner, shaking his head at the same mistakes being made by the new generation.
Oddly, I didn't spot Heseltine anywhere.
-
@Oh4Chrissake No it's Michael Heseltine at 1:32?
-
@Oh4Chrissake -Indeed it is the late Ted. The only redeeming face of Toryism. Watching on with characterisitic disapproval.

@lewisbrand: What sort of an argument is 'Winston Churchill wasn't a Nazi'? Churchill was an old school conservative. As far as I'm aware, Thatcherism didn't exist in his day and therefore he wasn't a Thatcherite so you are quite right, Churchill wasn't a Nazi. And if we don't "shut it!" what will happen, will you have us shot...or gassed?
There's one crucial difference between the Tories and the Nazis though, the people actually voted the Nazis into government, unlike Thatcher's mob.

@Bickieundspielen Andrew Sinclair from Trinity School, Croydon. He was 4 years below me at school, and Trinity Boys' Choir was asked to provide a soloist for the programme.
Anyone else play this when the Conservatives got back in this year?

@MrL3onidas I would say they didn't go far enough.
