You would think with a staggering 43 million people living in poverty in the US, that this would have gotten a massive response from politicians especially during an election year. But instead, for some reason Washington is largely silent. Christopher Chambers, Georgetown University Professor and Author of the Blog Nat Turner's Revenge, says the poor don't have a popular voice to help them fight. Nicki Kurokawa, Director of Research Analysis at the Winston Group, explains welfare programs in place today just don't give the right incentives.

  • @mmilos11 Only American Nightmare exist today.

  • 46 millions actually and growing

  • @Serbist Yes. It kept Nixon from getting elected. But you miss the point. She does not need earrings or bracelets to look well on TV. She could live with the bare necessities and give all her excess money to those who make less than she. Clearly, she does not do that.

  • @PatrickHenry75 You realize looking like crap on TV isn't a good thing, right?

  • Look at all the jewelry she's wearing. How many people could she have fed if she took the money she spent on that & bought food instead? How much did she spend on her make-up, hair, & clothes? Does she walk to work, because if she spent 1,000's on a car, shame on her.

Look at that man's suit and the other woman's ring and pearls. All those poor people these wealthy bourgeois pigs are wearing and driving to work. Shame.

The hostess may be full of BS but at least she's kind of EZ on the eyes

  • what a bunch of bullshit, poor by choice?what a bunch of dumb ass people on you panel, why not get the poor to speak for themselves. meaning, you need to get real poor people not the drug addict on the street. of course the drug addict wont get to the voting line.ask the poor people if they voted to make our economy better. people living in the projects do vote, and guess who they are? their the foreclosed home American families now in public housings.

  • @petersz98 Rascism is by far promoted by blacks. They live for their agenda and when it fails they use the tired line of racism. Time to become an America or carry your hate somewhere else.

  • i seriously hope this biased crap is not trying to masquerade as news...

  • @Imhornydadcomeinside It is not the responsibility of the government to take care of the economy! We have a repsonsibility of our economic growth and we have shown poor performances on the job, and not being productive and loyalty to our employers. Too many Americans are too conserned about raises and bonuses as we do not earn it! Poverty is our own fault!
