Rock Band Guitar Controller playing Real Music

Singer/Songwriter, Brien Sweet from New Hampshire, performing his original song, "We Are The Same" with the aid of some fun electronic devices.

If you google search "Gamepad Companion" you'll find a software program which will allow you to use your "Rock Band" game guitar controller with you computer. (I use a Mac, I know there is a similar program for windows users.) I've seen people use in Garageband or Reason and other programs. I'm using it in Logic.

I have not seen anyone post a video featuring original music being performed with these toys. I've tried using the drum kit as well, but the latency is SOOO bad it renders them worthless in a usable sense. I wonder if anyone knows how to cure this. My guess is they're just cheap toys, what did you expect?

Anyway, in the second half of the song I'm also using my favorite guitar effect. The Ebow! It simulates something like a violin bow, but sound more synthesized, something more like a beautiful sounding amplifier feedback.

Thanks, I know most people who stumble upon this vid won't care about my other vids. I just don't understand why they're searching for video game vids if they wanna see "real guitar playing". By the way , if you watch this whole vid, there is "real guitar playing".

Nice composition mate, and the Rock Band input was great. The geniuses labelling it as sad are the sort of narrow-minded tools that don't deserve to enjoy what they're too stupid to understand.

I've recently been using a Guitar Hero controller in Logic via Gamepad companion, plus used Quartz Composer to map the guitar's tilt sensor to the modulation wheel - works great to control the filter on a synth like the ES2.
