This video is dedicated to my new internet friends. I never knew much about Janis Joplin as she died when I was very young. While I was looking up the info on her, I thought I would make a video for the people who loved her. I think it is special that we each have people we choose to keep in our memory and the memory of others. I hope you enjoy it!
PS. I really went to pretty great lengths to find her recording of "Silver Threads and Golden Needles" as I just felt like this would be a great song to use. The lyrics seemed to match her life somehow. Although I found multiple references to the song, I was unable to locate ANY recording of it on the net...and I searched EVERYWHERE I could think of. Does anyone know why it is not there?

Great Video/notes of Janis Joplin...one of the greatest rock/blues lady singers that died way too young in an age of 'hippiedum' and counter-culture craziness~i talked to her backstage a few times as a young teen during those casual dance concerts in San Francisco via late 60s...thanks laura for sent vid!

i almost love this as much as the girl myself. ps im the guy she said wanted to marry her. the tornado light show was amazing oh so much. this is wonderful from the opening pic to the end of her letter. Thank you for allowing 45 of us to enjoy such a masterpiece. Miss you baby

I can't even express to you how amazing this was. The last part really got to me when Catherine Curtin was reading the letter... wow. Thank you so, sooo much for this. You did an incredible job. This is by far the best Janis tribute sort of thing I've seen on youtube.
