  • does anyone know how to get this effect with the spray bottle? I am taking a print making class and tried spraying isopropyl alcohol onto the plate before printing to get that diluted billowy spotted effect, but the ink doesn't behave the same way. Does it matter if the ink is oil based or water based? I believe ours is oil based.

  • Yes, pretty sure it's an alcohol-based solvent he sprays to disperse ink, and it gives a very cool effect. If you search Chris Gollon on You Tube, there are films of him painting using sprays and even printmakers rollers in his paintings. Check out The Party and also Radiators & Drains....

  • Very cool film, worth checking out other films and how printmaking techniques used in his paintings, there's a whole channel on You Tube showing them...

  • Thank you for sharing.

  • i thnk its turps? thins out the paint. i think?

  • anyone knows what kind of spray he used on the plate? Is it some kind of alcohol-based?

  • que huevones, no se vayan a quebrar las uñas al dar vuelta a su maquinita.
