An original Dodge-sponsored opening credit sequence for this long-running sitcom, as seen from Fall 1955. The series ran from 1953-1957 on ABC and from 1957-1964 on CBS. The theme music was a revised instrumental version of the traditional Irish song, "Danny Boy". NOTE: Fair use and education regarding classic TV history are the purpose here, thanks.
Jean Hagen grew up in my mother's hometown - and graduated from the same high school - MANY years before, though. Kinda neat to see this opening.

"Make Room for Daddy/The Danny Thomas Show" was one of the funniest sitcoms of all time. I'm sorry that very few people either remember it or even heard of it. For those who are fans of Dick Van Dyke and Andy Griffith (as I am), you have to thank Danny Thomas, who produced both shows.

This is from a September 1955 episode, as mention is made at :23 of the show's "Emmy Award" (given to them the previous March, as 1954's "Best Situation Comedy"), which Danny proudly "displayed" in the opening title throughout the remainder of '55.
