One of our 2005 Ball Pythons became egg-bound recently on her first clutch. She was 1700g and just could not seem to lay her eggs. In checking on her one morning, I noticed she was again trying to drop her eggs and expected to have them on the ground by that afternoon/evening. Two days had passed, no eggs! She seemed egg-bound and could not seem to pass them on her own. After consideration, I decided to help her out a bit. Thankfully all went well, eggs are healthy and mom was fine after a nice bath!

  • so how many babies will she have just 2 right cuz there is only two eggs

  • @17animallove They lay between 5-6 on average, but can lay as many as 10-12-13, but I've seen clutches with just 1-2 eggs, but most are 5-6-8 eggs.

  • i have a female right now that layed 4-eggs on may 27 th, that were all good so far, but she still has one in her , this will now be her 2nd day with the egg still in her , i soaked her for about a 1/2 hour in warm water and tried working it out, but i cant get it out, should i try harder, any help would be great thanks ps. she laid 8 eggs last year, just fine

  • @DetroitBalls It's impossible to tell what your snakes needs without being there. You don't want to push/force the eggs out as much as coerce/help them out.

  • How much do baby albino ball pythons cost?

and what web site? can i buy 1 :)

  • Thanks, I plan on selling 2-3 boys and the price would be appx $350 shipped.

  • Even though she doesn't show it, I bet she's thankful you Inter-veined.

  • Definitely a great video to have on the web for educational purposes and for other breeders who may come across the same problem. And great job helping her out! Hope you post more videos!

  • i dont know if this was asked, but are u incubating them? and if so how are they looking?

  • I guess it depends on the female and situation. This female did go into shed while egg-bound at the very end.
