Part of our Chiang Rai tour we were lucky to catch this Mien/Yao Funeral as we were passing through this village. Doesn't get more authentic than this http://www.thailandhilltribeholidays.com/Chiang-Rai-Tour.html

  • @brseavey the two people wearing the clothing could be shamans, however they are only assistants of the head shaman priest who is performing the ceremony. this is the beginning of the ceremony, the burning of the incense. the man in plain clothing is not a direct family member. maybe a distant relative or a village friend.

  • Are the people dancing priests or does everyone dance? Is the man in plain clothing a family member?
