This song was covered by This Mortal Coil project (It'll End In Tears album, 4AD, 1984).

Back in the 80s, UC Davis' radio station used to play some great goth and post punk stuff. I'd go to bed around 9pm and put them on and drift to sleep....one night after falling asleep, I woke sometime later with this song on...however, the dj had gotten the speed wrong and it was playing very slowly...I remember thinking WTF is this?
