After I studied the basic printout that I had made and set up my panel design, I took the small sketch and projected it onto my pattern paper. After tracing the image with a graphite pencil, I went back over my lines with a fine tipped black marker. I also used carbon paper and traced over the lines of my final "working" pattern, to make an exact copy so that I could make what is called a "cartoon". A cartoon enables me to see where I want to apply my glass paint once the glass piece is cut out.
