A vegan is: someone who eliminates the use of non-human animal products. Ethical vegans reject the commodity status of animals and the use of animal products for any purpose, while dietary vegans or strict vegetarians eliminate them from their diet only.

A vegetarian is: someone who encompasses the practice of following plant-based diets (fruits, vegetables, etc.), with or without the inclusion of dairy products or eggs, and with the exclusion of meat (red meat, poultry, and seafood). Abstention from by-products of animal slaughter, such as animal-derived rennet and gelatin, may also be practiced.

Veganism and Vegetarianism has been getting a lot of press lately and the following famous people are Vegans.

Porta De Rossi (Famous actress and wife of Ellen Degeneres) - is a vegan.

Casey Affleck (Famous actor and Ben Affleck's brother) - is a vegan.

Alec Baldwin (Famous actor and the most famous of the Baldwin brothers) is a vegan.

Ellen Degeneres (Famous talk show host) is a vegan.

Brad Pitt, Tobey Macguire, Joaquin Phoenix, Kevin Nealson and Mike Tyson are all Vegans.

Colleen Patrick-Goudreau (cookbook author and host of the podcast Vegetarian Food for Thought) is a vegan.

The singers Avril Lavigne, Bryan Adams, Alanis Morissette, Finoa Apple, are all Vegans.

In Australia we have had a big controversy about the live animal export trade, when you see the way these animals are treated it is shocking, I challange anyone to watch that footage and say 'we care' for the life we sacrafice for food, I am a meat eater but would like to think the meat I consume was treated humanely though its life, and suffered not overly in death. I urge anyone who eats meat to seek out this footage and follow the process from paddock to plate.
