This is part six. You REALLY need to watch this COMPLETE SHOW from part one. The final part seven is the "video response" below.

  • I remember the night this was screened...what a memory!!!

  • @63Brummie - Yeah. You rarely knew who was going to be on Parky's show until the NIGHT. So it blew my mind when TWO of my five greatest heroes (Kenny and Buddy) were on the SAME SHOW (and you'd never expect THOSE two to ever MEET!) And I quite liked Roy as well - then SAMMY walked out!! HELL of a show! Was a pure fluke I'd taped it, too. Oh - Dudley Moore, Burt Bacharach and John Barry, in case you were wondering...

  • I've seen some of this already, as one part has been posted elsewhere on YT, but it's great to see the bit that comes after. What a line up! It's remarkable how so many of them seem to know each other already, too.

  • @eocarcharia - Kenny was the odd man out, but Buddy and Sam had toured together several times - and Roy was a serious jazz musician, away from TV.

  • Look how naturally and easily Sammy commenced the singing! Splendid. REAL SINGERS have all passed on I must say

  • Its crazy how people mention martin luther king in history but dont mention sammy.if u read sammy book u a know that sammy did more then martin luther king.sammy the man.im only 26 but this man inspired me alot

  • When the band hit and I heard Sammy's voice, I teared up a little bit.. :)

  • @davidwrightatloppers

Well said David there is obvious effection, respect and LOVE between Buddy and Sammi.

There is no substitute for "paying your dues"

With the rise of Simon Cowell's fame not talent driven pop industry and the demise of the "pub Gig circuit"...we are very unlikely to see gus like this come through again.

    SAD very very SAD.

  • The piano accompaniment is gold plated in the song section ...when you listen a couple of times.....really first class!....

  • @roversd1 - yes, these other guys were SERIOUS HEAVYWEIGHTS!
