Dem. Jim Himes- Mandates necessary for healthcare bill

Congressman Jim Himes held a small conference with some area business leaders and employess- of which I was one. Note: He says he read a document three times the size of my Bible. He says he voted for a bill with the prison amendment (does it matter if you end up in prison for a civil crime??), as he believes he has authority to mandate laws (of which he is exempt), and does not believe it is unconstitutional. He is unaware of other cases where such government control was ruled unconstitutional by SCOTUS. He also is looking for an "authority" on the Constitution to tell him otherwise. Here's looking at you, America. What the hell is an "authority", anyway? Anyone who knows how to use Google can research it and figure it out. Not hard- just a few pages, after all...

Himes’ healthcare takeover already has massive cost overruns compared to its advertized costs. Himes voted for a bill that was supposed to cost only $788 billion. Since March, the estimate has been increased by $115-125 billion, according to the Congressional Budget Office.
