  • The Saturn version was the one i first completed back in 1996/97 but after going on to get and do the PS1 version many times and then after doing all the PS TR games and now having them on pc it really shows that graphically the Saturn version was inferior when i watch this aswel as the framerate being slightly worse and the save crystals not being see through aswel as many other things that was inferior.

  • @SAMTHEMANTHATCAN Actually from my experiences, the Saturn version has noticeably better framerate than the PS version. Everything else on the other hand, is a bit better on PS. I don't think the save crystals were transparent, but they look more like a crystal. There's nothing transparent in the game anyway. That probably would've been beyond the game engines' capabilities. I could be wrong about the crystals though, haven't played the PS version that much.

  • How many levels are there in TR1? I think theres about 11 or 12 in TRA but TR1 is a mystery to me..

  • There are 15 levels in the original. It takes about 5 hours and 20 minutes to clear the whole game on Saturn, if you kill and collect everything.

  • Yes. Theats a bit of a sneaky secret. How did you find out about that? I had this game but hardly found any secrets. Do your walk throughs end at level 12?

  • That secret was one of the few I had to use a walkthrough to find it... that was in '98... phew, I've played this game for a long time...

Yes, for now my walkthrough ends here. I might do the rest of the levels some day. Currently, I'm too pissed off with the game to do that :)

  • Heh you must have been worried about dying in the end there against those tree baddies. I always just go right into with my Magnums and use a couple of small medipacks during the fight:-) Hope you do the last levels sometime.

Thank god for PSN that allowed to play this game again.

  • No, i agree with you 100%!

My fav Tomb Raider is number 2 mainly because it was the first Tomb Raider game i finished.

Brings back alot of good memories the game use to scare the shit outta me lolz

  • Agreed. I very regularly play old Sega Saturn & PS1 games instead of my XBOX360. But its worth pointing out that if you had the chance to get TR on Sega Saturn or PS that it was best getting it on PS as it was a tidier conversion.

The first 3 Tomb Raider games are to this day still better than 90% of the games iv played and better than anything iv done recently

  • But what i was trying to say was most of the people who play these kind of games dont play for graphics.

So nto a big deal atall :D

  • I dont think how the things look is a big deal considering this is a VERRY old game and people dont play it because it looks good NOR bad as i have seen people play this game because it is nothing like any other games out there when it came out. And even now people still play it even when there are WAY better looking games with WAY better graphics out there. Just goes to show how many people play games for memories not just graphics. Or how many people play games that there are not many like it.

  • Well i disagree on the framerate issue. As for the crystals they were noticably better looking on the PS. If you go up close and got the camera zoomed in on it you would notice that the PS cystals were like mirrors in that they reflected everything. If you stood in front of one and got the camera behind it you could see through it and see lara's image wobbling like a reflection on water. The Saturn's was just plain blue. Also the sound was inferior on the Saturn and it was missing a seceret.

  • Woah! At 5:37 i thought you were just gonna hit the floor and die! But... a tiny glitch saved you!

  • At around 2:05 I thought you were gonna fall and die or something...I didn't even know there was that invisible platform you landed...now I know it's there!
