American Black Bear (Ursus americanus)

The oppportunity to hold a seven week old American Black Bear (Ursus americanus) cub recently presented itself. This cub's name is Hambone, and his sister's name is Elizabeth. Their mother was rescued from an owner who could no longer care for her, and these two were born in captivity. We were accompanied during this interaction by Wade (a USDA certified animal specialist at GW Exotic Animal Park, whose tattooed arm is visible at one point in the video) during this interaction. Hambone is very cute and cuddly. Hambone, Elizabeth, and their mother are well cared for at their new home.
