Yes, Edward Gorey collaborated with the Tiger Lillies on the album "The Gorey End" which this song is from. Gorey died before the band finished composing the album but the album is based on translations form Gorey's work.
Apparently Gorey heard the Lillies and liked them so much he contacted them.

It is a pity Edward Gorey never got to hear nor see what he inspired. Although maybe his shadow is side of stage and smiling. The perfect collaboration. I love it!!!!
