Betty Hoops signed with Gaiam in 2003. She created their first Hoop Dance dvd and collapsible hoop. She teaches how to use the hoop as a total mind-body workout; release stress, toning muscle and strengthening every muscle in the body.
Betty uses techniques from sport training, physical therapy and 3 forms of yoga to make sure that the student is properly aligned. This is very similar to how athletes and performers train and prevent injury. Her method teaches how the muscular & skeletal system can be isolated & then integrated.
In 2005 Betty set the Guinness Book World Record in speed and distance hoop running. Every year she breaks her time by using the techniques she teaches in her classes and trainings.
Integrity of motion is a primary intention of her programs. The yoga of movement should have nothing to do with fancy tricks and outfits so Betty continues to target teachers, inner city programs and keep her company grassroots.
