This 4 min. demo shows you how to configure and install Citrix XenServer Express 4.0.1 on VMware Workstation 6.0. You need a machine with Intel VT or AMD-V enabled bios.

  • Nono guys. This is a Norwegian band called Ugress. This tune is called "Rain". They have a lot of free mp3's - just google them... :)

  • BTW, I now see they are listed here on youtube as well. Just search "Ugress".

  • There is no point doing this is there?

    It's simple enough to get XenServer running on VMWare - the point is, you cant run any virtualisation in XenServer because it doesnt have recursive access to the CPU virtualisation aspects of the chipset - which is required.

    I.e. You can run a virtualised XenServer on VMWare, but you can not then run a virtualised citrix VM from within that environment. You just get told that HVM is required.

    If I have this wrong then let me know.

  • @krb3141 There isnt. See my later post.

  • text is hard to read, Can you put a high quality Video?

    Or attach some information in Description

  • Thanks - same problem for me, and your solution solved it!

  • Hi,

    in my case it is just for demo reasons. It's because you can't install xenserver parallel to your normal windows installation. Xenserver grabs the whole harddisk.

    regards

  • Beginner question...what is the point of running Xen server on top of VMWare Workstation?

  • tha's funny.

  • To solve this problem, you have to choose IDE for harddisk and DVD. Then you have to edit the VMX-File of the virtual machine and change

    scsi0.present="TRUE"

    to

    scsi0.present="FALSE"

    Had the same problem and now it works fine.

    The problem doesn't occur in 4.01

    regards
