Great video, I am new to the ro systems a friend recently gave me an ro system from SAMs club it's called 5 stage ro premier tfm5. Now I checked it out on there site and it doesn't say anything about DI. Can you please help me understand. And if I need something your company was highly recommended to me so I will order whatever I need to set this up I need it for my salt water tank and also is the water good to drink after it has been filter. Is the some kind of back flow preventer on the waste water line to prevent contamination in the filter system?

@ccsecond Our drinking water units use an air gap faucet to prevent drain water from backing up into the system because a typical drinking water system is installed below the sink/drain.

@ccsecond A vast majority of our customers who use this for aquarium use either don’t make a permanent connection to the drain and just slide the waste water tube down the drain when they are using it or the install the system on the water above the sink. Both of these install options do not require any additional steps to prevent drain water from going up the drain line if your sewer to were to back up.

@ccsecond If you are doing a different install where you were concerned about this and do not want to use an air gap faucet I might recommend a couple check valves. Check valves are not infallible so I would change them out occasionally.
