@aviramvijh "Pure language"..really? There is no pure language in the world currently. Every language has influences and an ancestral root and Punjabi is no different. Punjabi isn't a mix buddy! Yes, the script used in india for Punjabi was honed into its present form few hundred years ago, but there was others scripts that were used for punjabi. These scripts all related back to the brahmi script dated back to BC times. And punjabi being spoken in a certain manner is called dialects. misformed!

@blkscreen15 : Neither of them is a pure language. Punjabi is a mixture of many languages, majorly Hindi/Sanskrit/Farsi...Punjabi didn't even have a script till a few hundred years ago...so was basically a dialect of Hindi. Urdu isn't born out of Punjabi at all, and neither was Punjabi born out of Urdu. Punjab was introduced to Urdu only post 1850s. But Punjabi can be spoken in a 'Hindi/Sanskritized' manner or 'Urdu/Persianized' manner.

Urdu is a Hindustani language you idiots. In fact Pakistan adopted Urdu because of the large scale immigration of Urdu speaking people from India. Zaban e Hind hai Urdu. And Punjabi is an Urduized Language anyway.
