  • It wasn't actually tuned - I remember driving it around for the week we had it in the office. The GT2 was as you could buy as a customer, the Scuderia was an actual customer car and the LP560-4 was supplied by Lamborghini. We had driven many other examples of each model and there was nothing unusual about the cars in this test.

  • Was the manettino in race mode?

  • @minimacooper - yes it was in race mode, so as to switch all traction control systems off.

One thing to bear in mind is that the Scuderia belonged to a private owner, whereas both GT2 and LP560-4 were press cars provided by their respective manufacturers. So we were a little more 'careful' with the 430.

But it never felt as fundamentally fast as the other two cars, especially the GT2 which just felt other-worldly..

  • ok thanks for your answer Citizen Slide! so waithing for the 458 Italia...

  • @minimacooper - No problems. By the way, CitizenSlide is 'Steve Davies' (i.e. founder of DR & SkiddMark). Not an astounding revelation, and nowhere near as significant as Michael Schumacher removing revealing himself (jokingly) as the Stig on Top Gear, but worth pointing out anyway.

I haven't driven the 458 Italia, but everyone who has done describes it as being noticeably quicker than the 430, so a re-match with the new more powerful GT2 would be cool..

  • @CitizenSlide Indeed, it would be cool. 458 vs GT2RS vs LP570 Superleggera. Yum yum.

On a seperate note, well done on SkiddMark. I was sad to see DR go though; I loved that site. However, different visions are what they are and the best of luck to all of you (we get Chris Harris at evo too. Cool).

  • @DJKrissJ - Thanks Kriss. I'm really looking forward to pitting the McLaren MP4-12C against the 458 Italia, and then of course we'll have the new 911 out in 2011, so a group test in 2012 of the supercar greats will be of 'Olympic' levels of awesomeness. Can't wait!

  • It is amazing how fast a car forum turns racial. I mean c'mon go on a talk show and let the real car lovers be! This is about the appriciaton of cars not your babbling...pffffff.

  • HS!! where did the porsche come from?! LOL

  • @CitizenSlide Haha, it certainly will! I must admit, I'm very excited about the MP4-12C. By all accounts, it should really shake things up in the supercar world. And Mclaren are doing a very good job at keeping us all waiting with baited breath.
