  • nice display dude, i have a question, im reasonably new to pyrotechnics but have been trying to find somewhere to buy rice hulls with no luck at all. do you use meal coated rice hulls? if not what do you use instead? iv seen and tryed quite a few different things such as grass seed and rice crispys but all have not worked out to well.

  • @thorpyo

Hi Thor, I have no experience with rice hulls, so i cant comment. I use grass seed (a 1KG box for a couple of quid at B&Q!) its never let me down, and when im using my high grade BP it really is very fast. Ive found i dont need to spike my BP with dextrin either. It seems to bind to the grass seed in its raw form pretty well!

    hope this helps

let me know how you get on

  • hey great rockets can i ask you some thing in the uk do you need licence to make home made fireworks and could you tell me wich ones u dont need a license and the ones you do.

  • @pyroshisha123

    hi there,

no license exists to make homemade fireworks, but you need a license to buy 'professional display quality CAT4 fireworks'. The legislation is very vague, so untill they ban 'amateur pyrotechnics' here in the UK, we are free to do whatever we want! haha

  • @murdoch2486 so we can make areal shells with out a license

  • @pyroshisha123

Yes, you can technically make anything you like, but just use common sense on what you set off where!

there are still a few rules you have to abide by, like not setting off devices after 11pm and in a public place! anything to keep the authorities off your back!

In regards to where supplies can be bought, a bit of googling will put you in the right direction, there are loads of suppliers out there, that cater for our needs, if you get me!

  • Wow .. looks like it was a great night of fun! Do you do this every year? Great work!!

  • We miss you Ed! :)

  • Hi! Can someone tell me the amount of chlorate used in this video? Does it come the same effect with nitrate?

  • On the first rocket you show what are the small devices not the big red and brown shell, but the small firecracker like shells. What effect do they give out?

  • Yess the last one was titanium loaded i say ...nice work mate ! Keep it up like this

  • I like the last one :D

  • Very Nice^^

  • It's probable that my bp isn't all that great then, any tips, iv been using the standard 75,15,10 ratio using air float willow charcoal, is there a different charcoal to use for a faster burn or just milling it for longer?

  • Very nice displays.

  • Amazing fireworks ! Also thats a nice firework shed you have there, im jelly :D
