Although a little windy, today was a nicer day then when I maidened the Advance. I had a much better take off, and a little better landing. Still learning, having fun!

I charged the battery packs after this flight and they only needed 814 mah to charge out of 3600 capacity.

Setup:
Motor - G15 900kv
Servos - Power HD 1160a mini
ESC/BEC - Hobbywing 60amp/Hobbywing switch mode 3amp
Batteries - 2 1800mah Gforce 25c (in parallel = 3600mah)
Prop - APC 12x8e

All the electronics were from valuehobby.com

  • @multicolor0 I set the flaps setting on my radio to 100% - it slowed the plane down quite a bit without stalling.

  • @multicolor0 yes, I just tested that tonight. They work great! I set the flaps on my

  • @tenzaro215 I don't know, I read that the 255 servos come really close to fitting. I thought the guy who posted on rcgroups was saying he sanded down the sides of the servo. He said he used "sandpaper" to make them fit. I don't think you could sandpaper inside that square servo cutout. You would have a really hard time getting in the corners. It's hard for me to give advice without seeing how much wider the servos are than the cutout.

  • can you put flaperons on it?

  • @tenrazo215 I've read that those dynam fit well, but I didn't know where to get them. Other people have used the hitec 255s. On the rcgroups thread, post 30 (sorry, YouTube won't let me post a link) the guy said he made them fit by sandpapering them.

  • @tenrazo215 I don't think I would call it floaty, but it glides nice. It's just different from the foamies I've flown like the parkzone corsair, blubaby 33, slow stick etc. It's a lot bigger and heavier than those planes, but it slows down nice and is easy to control. Yeah, I flew for 4 and a half minutes, so I could easily go over 10 minutes. The batteries were charged (I charged them in parallel) in 17 minutes.
