The more I watch this the more I'm amazed the censors allowed it to be broadcast! First a black man dancing with white females who were dressed very controversially (bare mid drifts). Then touching a females bared leg that left little to the imagination with the lyrics. Plus in the dance routine he bumps hips to all the girls. I was only 6 yrs when Star Trek was heavily criticized for having (gasp!) an alien kissing a black women. My Mom was horrified when after all the interracial rioting

this is a European production, likely far less regressive than the American culture at the time.

Why not? We were far more liberated and liberal in the late 60s than now. We've regressed not progressed.

@terpsichoreankat Actually, the Star Trek in question, "Plato's Stepchildren", featured Capt. Kirk, (William Shatner), being forced by mind control to kiss Lt. Uhura (Nichelle Nichols). Neither of them were "aliens", but yes, there was a LOT of flack about that!
