I'm also in central Florida with its unique challenges. You seem to be very knowledgeable. I look forward to learning from your videos. Looks like fun.

There are quite a few of us in Florida that have the same Homesteading idea's. I'm in the Ocala area. And just purchased a small 3/2 on an acre. It's Zoned A-1 Agriculture and I can do just about anything I want. I am planning Pigs, Chickens, Garden, Solar and Wind projects over the next few years. We have a nice supply of old growth tree's and we have a Well and Septic system. It would be nice to get together with like minded people to confer lessons learned and project idea's
Homestead!
Isn't that opened water container a mosquito breeder? Mosquito breeding can cycle in 2 days, so if you cannot used up all those catchment water in that time, you got to screen the opening.

@sok8888 That is true.. i do have it screened (double acutally). Mosquito arent a problem here at all as far as im concerned... compared to Minnesota where i grew up. Now "no see ums" is a totally different story

Thanks Rc.. Its good to be prepared. My drive to garden is more out of love for Life. Cultivating and reconnecting to the earth and Life helps me feel good, joyful and alive. My city doesnt allow chickens but somebody wise once said "its easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission" If we focus on what we DO want life to be like, we are far more effective, creative and life affiriming.. and just more happy.
