Wilson Pickett - Don't Knock My Love - Pt. II (Wilson Pickett - Brad Shapiro) Prod. by Dave Crawford & Brad Shapiro Recorded at Muscle Shoals Sound Studios, Muscle Shoals, Ala S/ data Atlantic Records DISCOTECA BIG BOY
Thank you so much for putting this version up here. It's never been released on CD (or LP for that matter, I think). It differs from the album version of Part 2 in that this doesn't have the annoying string overdubs.
I remember coming home from school and going over to my girlfriends house that day. Her mom was playing this adn dancing. I asked who this was and she said Wilson Pickett. Now you know I loved the other side too, but this was SUPERBAD! I love Wilson Pickett! He was so bad! I went oout and bought the 45 that same day!
I just had book nook hold this 45" lp for me since I didnt have the money to buy it. I am only going to buy it because Prince mentioned Wilson pickett as one of his influences coming up and how these artists were people that you really had to have your act together to follow on a concert bill which includes ike and tina. ROGER TROUTMAN tore up his version of Midnight Hour from his 1984 The Saga Continues album......Roger Troutman's version of Midnight Hour sounds much better than the original.
THE ORIGINAL ALBUM VERSION COMBINES A LENGTHY VOCAL/INSTRUMENTAL COMBO - ESSENTIAL PRE-DISCO CLASSIC, WICKED PICKETT MEANT TO BE PLAYED LOUD & WITH THE MARVIN/GAYE/DIANA ROSS 7" DUET REMAKE! CLASSIC! SPEED UP & PLAY LOUD! DAVEDJ

@thinzeppelin The single version of Part 1 is easy to get, it's on the 'A Man And A Half' anthology, for example.

When this was played on the radio, it took the idea of funk and mixing it guitar to a higher level. Straight out AWESOME.
