A generation of graduates now working as journalists and communications specialists throughout the world thought it would never happen.
But Australias and one of the worlds longest established journalism schools has updated and relocated.
After more than 20 years housed in cottages on the western fringe of the University of Queensland St Lucia campus, the School of Journalism and Communication has dusted itself off, introduced the latest teaching and communications facilities, and relocated slap bang near the centre of things, as John Austin reports.
