  • @Vamp6661 I can't tell you how liberating it is to break the bondage of religion. Religion is a cancer that promotes ignorance and intolerance. It is the denial of reality so that faith can be preserved. It curtails investigation because for every unknown, people would tend to insert God as an explanation and give up trying to find out. I also get things that I want. Not because I was in favour of some God, but because I worked for them. That's the power of humanity that religion disregards.

  • @Vamp6661 He's trying to make you realize that you worship a God that created a hell. And that he would put perfectly good people in it just because he made them logical enough not to believe in him. If you can still worship him after all that, then you're, and I repeat, an asshole ;)

No moral person can swallow the doctrine of hell, let alone telling anyone (especially good people) that they'll burn there for ALL ETERNITY.

  • @j919or

    Same difference.

They pass on this supposed god's threat, and as such ARE threatening you (just on behalf of 'god').

It's the same as when they say being gay is a sin because the bible says so.

It's THEIR bigotry, masked as some god's divine judgement, because IF THEY DIDN'T AGREE or at least CONDONED it then they wouldn't be standing there saying it to our faces.

'just warning you' is the worst cop-out ever, and it doesn't work with anyone with more than a single functional braincell.

  • @SeedsOfHatred ""threaten me with eternal Hellfire""

To threaten you would imply that:

1.They had the power to send u to hell

    2. They thought that fear alone would motivate u towards heaven

    3. They are telling you this for u sake ALONE when this is a public forum.

None of this is true and therefore at best the alert of hell is a warning for you and at least it is a warning for others.

  • I've rationalized the idiocy that is "Hell" to Christians for far too long to care anymore. I've brought up valid points and contradictions in the concept, and they never seem to get it. I simply have neither the willpower, nor the desire to fight it anymore.

Now when they threaten me with eternal Hellfire, I just say "Sounds kinky" and leave it at that.

  • How does jesus suffering for 3 days be an equal trade off for everyone's suffering, unless if the punishment was unimaginably minute in time?

How does it equate to an eternity per person? Wouldn't jesus suffering for our sins be him suffering in hell for eternity. I wouldn't wish that on him of course, but according to what god thinks we deserve, 3 days shouldn't cut it... am i right?

  • Any ideaology that requires threats to those that won't adhere to it's doctrines, is a failed ideaology from the start! =Religion
