I just looked at maps.fon.com It's part of the Fon Wifi network. There are Wifi hotspots all over the UK and rest of the world. BT are investors in this network but they have potentially lobbied the UK Gov to close down open Wifi. Also, these Wifi Hotspots must be a subsystem of existing customers BT Broadband Home Hubs. do these customers know ? It seems remarkable that Fonera has survived while open Wifi is now illegal.

@HardeyLeone I take that back. Its seems they really care and want to stop the police state that the last GOV pushed on us. However, they may be stopping lots of those things but they are also bringing in 'other way's of doing it. Its the same goal.

Labour and conservatives suck for doing this, I don't think it will change much though when they see what they are up against millions of users, programmers and hackers.

@pianomags Well labour got rejected and more people voted for conservatives, and now we have a Torie PM in a Conservative / Lib dem government. I think they have learnt from past mistakes and can't do much worse than labour has over the last 8 years so give them a chance you may be surprised.

For those of you old enough to remember - do you REALLY want Conservatives in again?
