Just discovered that this (very) famous short was made by Chris Miller -- later to be the voice of Kowalski the penguin in the Madagascar movies, and now the director of Puss in Boots!

Cartoon Network probably doesn't because MTV owns the rights to Liquid Television, and MTV doesn't because they're too busy carrying on as a flaming mountain of suck to care about being good or creative. Too busy filming another reality show with tarts in bikinis and kids on beaches to knuckle down for the real work.
