The kickoff event is simultaneously hosted in 49 different location across the globe. We attended the one in Seattle Washington (actually it was held in Bellevue International School).

At the kickoff, details of the competition were announced. This mark the beginning of the design and build seasons.

Teams all over the world have exactly 6 weeks to design, build, test and program their new robots to meet the 2008 competition rules. Gabriel and his team from Eastlake High School will be spending the next 6 weeks exclusively on the robots.

There will be 2 regional competitions, one in Portland, Oregon and the other in Tacoma, Washington. The final competitions will be in Atlanta, Georgia.
