"Go Figure" Great Ole' Dr. Shock's 3rd Annual Halloween Spooktacular. This part 01 of 04. These are just the sketches edited by me into one wmv. Split into four parts because of time restrictions. These spooktaculars were aired on Local Pbs Digital Cable Channels. Dr. Shock exploded onto the airwaves in 1989 on FOX 36. For 3 1/2 years he entertained and shocked northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan fans with his unique brand of humor and slapstick comedy. Every Sat. night at midnight you could "Turn off the lights... melt in your chairs and absorb the shock waves off the tele' and enjoy one of your favorite horror movies hosted by the zany antics of the Midwest's greatest horror host, Dr. Shock. When Dr. Shocks X-Ray Chiller Theatre was forced off the air by those !"#@? Infomercials!!!
Of the many MANY things I I find lacking in the Endless wasteland of 21st century TV... its the absence of local-flavor programing! Especialy the Horror Movie shows, with the Zany hosts! I wish the networks could (for ONCE!) listen to what their viewers wanted, and drop some of the 'Real Life' gunk and give us something more old-school!

Dr Shock FTW... I grew up next door to Doug (during the "Dr Shock era) and he a great job during halloween at his house/yard/porch. I remember him giving kids "fake" stab wounds and gunshot wounds. he made a ton of that kinda stuff right there at his house. He moved from the neighborhood and I havent seen him much.

I miss this show, not only the doc and the freak themselves, but the shrunken head, Dr. Von Grossenberg and amoeba and the fungi. I remember seeing it during the day when I first started watching it, then it was moved to night time.

epic. I remember I was the 'premiere artist' of the week when he showed 'My Bloody Valentine'. It was a pic of 'The Joker' and he sent me a bag o' swag. It's cool that Doug's making the rounds at the horror conventions like Wasteland. Nostalgia.
