  • it appears that combat now is:

move wasd+roll with whatever button it is, and us mouse to click skills?

i did a combination of button/mouse movements to do both combat and movement in gw1 but this seems to give less freedom if you are to move instantaneously to dodge...

  • @xgwxfreakx You move with WASD, and to roll, you just double tap the same key. So to roll to the right, you double tap D, or to roll forward, you double tap W, etc. You use your skills by pressing the corresponding number (1-0). 1-5 are your primary attack skills, 6 is the dedicated healing button, and then 7-0 are class specific skills you learn over time. You actually have a lot more freedom now. Plus, you can jump now (space bar).

  • @HaloKing2005 Seeing as you've played it, I know usually its the case in games w+a+s+d is all movement, and you can just replace those letters with the arrow keys to move about! For some reason I always get hate when I say I prefer the arrow keys, but its just what I feel more comfortable with! You know if arrow keys are set as a default for players who like that instead of wasd.

  • @xjx2 Yeah, you can use the arrow keys as default. You'd be surprised how many people actually went straight for the arrow keys instead of WASD. Only problem is that for now the default attacks are 1-0 above the keyboard (and the number pad doesn't work for attacks), however, they said they were most likely going to make it where you can use the number pad eventually, and customize the keys however you want it. You can click the attacks to make them work, but it's harder to control.

  • It may be a repeat tutorial at each showing; however, that tutorial alone makes many other *leading* MMOs look like rubbish.

  • @maxulic The game is still far from launch, and this hasn't really been playable in the USA yet, so this is offering a different crowd the same experience others may have had already.

  • Gamers should realize that single-role playing game(RPG) is different compare with MMORPG. Single-RPG can make movement flawless like this long time ago especially with all types of consoles games. But heck this is open persistant world with many many players and with movement just like this I find that's very rare. This is the first mmorpg game that I've seen anyways. Even SWTOR with full voice computer AI still seems worse. GW2 movement is better than Skyrim in my opinion, Aha dodging/rolling

  • I just can't wait for this game. I wish it would hurry the hell up and get released! D:

  • @haloheroz The skills affected by your weapon (on the left side of the bar) are not select-able. And other than the first skill on the very left, all of your weapon skills have to be unlocked through usage of that weapon. Though the skills that ARE select-able are the ones on the right side of the bar which makes up for utility, heals, and elite skills.

  • for all of you ,,retro,, mmo-ers who think guild wars was good and you like the classical linear linear slash.... skill,,,, mmo you will regret guild wars 2

From my opinnion guild wars 2 look more similar to dragon age 2...soo...it's a beguining.

  • The dude playing reminds me of little britain

  • Tera is fucking bullshit been playing it for about a year in "Korean" the games a big grind I mean if your a retard and want to grind your ass then Tera is for you. Plus combat ai system is too slow to react, you end up doing the same quests over again and other thing is that they have a cash shop just like maple story! It's fucking a mess

  • wow so boring....... tera FTW ( wait, is tera out?? im still playing aion )

  • @HaloKing2005 i was wondering if the skills effected by your weapon are selectable? Also does the gameplay live up to expectations?

  • It is only a lvl 1 zone, and it is still breathtaking :O
