My Catskills mushroom riff is here inter-cut with a lesson on fungal biology and growing Chanterelle mushrooms from the great Liberation Ecology leader, Rafter P. Sass. Rafter also discusses how fungi organize the re-appearance of pristine landscapes once clear-cut, similarly to how the people can re-organize society which has been clear-cut by the Republocrat vultures currently decimating the American political and societal landscape with their bacterioid policies and cretinous first wives. Similarly to how fungi re-establish a balanced landscape, the Human Beings are in the process, a slow steady one, of re-establishing decency in this blighted and ravaged community we still call America, although it seems so un-American right now. Barter, Associational Economics, dance, art, botany, the Nature Institute, Dustin Hoffman, biodynamic farming, health food stores, Sounds True audio, Thich Nhat Han, Oprah Winfrey, Barbra Streisand, Robert Redford, Newman Foods, the Rudolf Steiner Foundation, Waldorf Education, Camphill Communities, classical music, Bob Dylan, rock and roll in general except bad-acid rock, Neil Young, Anthroposophy, Slow Food, non-violence, Craft Guilds, spiritual movements, bee-keeping, human rights, meditation, qi gong, community living, off-the-grid living, acupuncture, herbology, homeopathy, bodywork, the Alexander Technique, holistic healing, Bach flower remedies and all flower essence therapies, Iroquois philosophies, Consumer Supported Agriculture, permaculture and comedy are all harbingers of the new Renaissance the grinning and idiotic Cheneyian and Certoffian Aztec vultures will be overgrown by as time goes by, thank heavens!

Thanks for confirming my impression of the mushroom I used as a prop! I thought that was it.

Can it be boiled and used for fertility? Is it safe to eat? From my Audubon Guide, that says they make a candy of the stuff, I guess so, but that's from the Ganoderma curtisii(the stalked form).

Are you a mycologist?

It is my pleasure to inform you that you have discovered the Ganoderma Lucidum. This particular fungus is known in ancient Chineese medicine as the "King of the Herbs". Check it out on You Tube. Oh...as for politicians...they are merely slime mold.
