This exercise combines the airlift pump with other aquaculture principles to build a one-design simple biofilter for small aquariums. The airlift powers the water flow through the filter and the bio-media is made from recycled water bottles. Use this as a guideline and your inventiveness to design and build your own unique aquarium biofilter. Let me know what improvements you came up with.

  • It is a cheap aquarium pump, one that has two outlets, should have shown it in the video. sorry I don't usually check messages, it's just a simple aquarium pump and you can check on the air flow by turning the airline into a calibrated bottle filled with water and turned upside down in the bucket of water, time it like you would the water flow

  • i get the theory but the one thing left out of the steps is how much air is being used for the result shown-what king of pump are you using
